Catalyst is the trusted resource for research, information, and advice about women at work.   According to their research, changes in women's professional contribution in the U.S. have been dramatic.

Women have higher earning potential, increased responsibility and pressure in the workplace, however, society is not shifting fast enough to accommodate the new identity of a high-performing woman balancing workplace and familial/home duties.

A study of women MBAs done by the University of Michigan Business School cites that "women MBAs are significantly less likely than men to be married, have children or be the primary wage earner in their household".  It also suggests that graduates from MBA programs, especially women, are less satisfied with work/life balance - one of every three women are not satisfied with their current balance.

Several studies suggest a theory that the reason why women don't pursue MBAs is the "incompatibility with work/life balance.

"When you think about corporate life, it seems very unbalanced.  It seems that to get ahead and be successful and do the whole MBA thing and then go work for a corporation really requires 110 hours a week." - anonymous student

Design Your Work would like to hear from you.  If you are a woman MBA and you have an opinion about how your current sense of balance has been either enhanced or challenged in your current work and personal lifestyle, join Coach Tanya for this group interview.

The interview will last 45-60 minutes and will consist of 5-6 questions.  All participants are voluntary and the call will be recorded.
